Nisan Biçer is a jazz vocalist born in Istanbul and currently based in Hamburg.
Her interest in music began at an early age. While studying engineering in Turkey, she performed with various ensembles and, in 2022, appeared as a member of IWS Collective, one of the finalists of the İKSV Young Jazz+ (Genç Caz+) program. As part of the ensemble, she performed at the Parklarda Caz concert series within the Istanbul Jazz Festival and at the Akra Jazz Festival. Throughout this period, she also had the opportunity to work with acclaimed Turkish jazz vocalist and educator Randy Esen for three years.
In 2024, after working for two years at a design company, Nisan moved to Hamburg to focus on her musical education. She is currently studying Jazz Vocals at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hamburg, where she has been working with Ulita Knaus and Konstantin Heintel for the past two years.
Continuing to perform in both Hamburg and Istanbul, Nisan’s performances in 2026 included Latin Night, led by Dominican guitarist, composer, and arranger Federico Méndez; a performance with Eingang Collective as part of the Blurred Edges Festival, exploring free improvisation; and a concert at the JazzHall Summer Festival featuring a repertoire of original compositions and arrangements by Uruguayan guitarist Alan Plachta. In the same year, she also presented a program of jazz standards with her quartet at Brückenstern. During her time in Turkey, she remains active on the Turkish jazz scene, performing at a range of jazz clubs and concert venues including Nardis, Gregor, Pera 77, Bova, and Akra 251.
